Meet the team
Nick Bache
Nick Bache – Founded CDoS in 1991. Nick looks after the technical aspect and client liaison out in the wilderness, that is Greater Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Great Barr, Lichfield and Tamworth. In the past (see history of CDoS PCDoctor Ltd) we had 17 PCDoctor’s including a sales and admin teams and workshop and every week it was a matter of good service and logistics. There’s too much to say about our history, but a shortened one is below. All I can say is that it was fun (most of the time!) Now.. We are developing an AI Development Team over final quarter of 2026 and into 2027 and beyond. Built on the principle of simplifying complexity and helping you to develop effective client helpers.
Paulette Williams
Paulette Williams joined us in 2017 as our Office Manager and Company Secretary. Paulette looks after Accounts and Support Contract renewals and makes day to day appointments in our shared CDoS PCDoctor diary. Paulette is the glue that holds CDoS Administration together and I am very pleased to have her on the team. She keeps me in line and every day she lets me know!
CDoS History
Our story –
“I suppose I fell in love with computers back in 1969 when NASA landed on the moon and later in 1971-2, I built a Sinclair calculator with more memory than they used to land on the Sea of Tranquillity. I was 13 years of age. Mind you I was always whipping the back off black and white TV’s in the 60’s much to the upset of my mother and the Multibroadcast rental TV technician…I attributed my keen love of electronics to my father who with mums help bought me a Phillips EE8 electronics set which enabled me to build “Gizmos” at 8 years of age. Radios, wetness indicators for plants dryness and even a 8 keyboard electronic organ.
In the 1980’s I dabbled with (Apple Macintosh’s) as they were called then and used one to create desktop publishing using PageMaker prior to that in the newspaper industry we actually cut and pasted (for real!) . I used computers more often throughout the 80’s as the IBM compatible PC’s took over running MS-DOS v 3.1 and early versions of Windows 2.
In the early 1990’s after running a part time business building PC’s I went into business full time. A home based computer business (as many were in those days) we moved in to our first premises in Coleshill and the business built up trading all over the UK selling tailor made computers via national magazine advertising. In 1991 I was sending faxes direct from PC’s a few years before the Internet came of age. The Internet was and still is massive. We had our first website which I wrote it in “htm” code in 1995. Little did I know there were only 4 sites in the West Midlands! It was fun like breaking new ground.
In the 21st Century afte the Dot com boom we “morphed” into a computer services company after handling the “Millennium time bomb bug” which threatened to stop all computers at midnight 31st December 1999 – which of course they did not! We opened another premises in Solihull and built up the CDoS PCDoctor services side of the business. We had up to 17 PC doctors and admin staff working throughout the Midlands in CDoS until 2006. However, the days of the little computer shop had come and gone. I really didn’t know what I was going to do next but the phone didn’t stop ringing as we had built a reputation for looking after our clients and people cared enough to ask me to carry on in the role of their personal IT manager.
Coming up to 48 years of age opportunities in IT were not flying through the door so I just carried on looking after people in the best way I knew how.
Coming back full circle I realised I had returned to the love of working with people, helping them and the buzz of fixing their problems. So that’s where we are today. We have a strong administration arm and with more staff joining the team we have a really good little business small enough to care about you and your needs.
The idea of a personal and small business I.T. support service for the public and home businesses and staff at home came to me as the need for a safe port of call became more obvious and because of some of the horror stories, I came across. We are dedicated to helping people navigate their way out of “scamsters” attacks on their retirement income and sadly there is a growing need for this service. We have a no nonsense approach and do not make a meal out of other miseries. We go in clean up, console, leave instructions and put our clients back in control of their lives within a few hours.
